A Small Procedure

Ryan had his third colonoscopy in 4 months today. But unlike the other two, the dr. who preformed the procedure didn't explain the results.  They go straight to Ryan's surgeon, which is totally annoying, so we will be pestering her office tomorrow for a soundbite of what the procedure determined.  Though not something to brag about, Ryan has sort of figured out how to make the prep for this procedure as painless as possible. The prep instructions just say liquid diet the day before the procedure.  But tricky Ryan ate super light on Saturday, and then liquid diet on Sunday meant there wasn't much to evacuate for the colonoscopy.  It also meant way less abdominal cramping.  A gross topic for my blog, but there's your trick, courtesy of the Smiths.  At least it worked well for him.  All in all, a good day, with no "perforated colon" this time.  We all know the popular saying "A non-perforated colon is a happy colon." True that.

My tactic is to make ridiculous jokes to entertain Ryan while I'm with him. It seems to work relatively well.
Cold feet are no good, so the socks are staying on.

In about 5 minutes, Ryan will be totally knocked out.  But he's smiling because I requested another warm blanket. Makes me want to keep warm blankets lying around the house.

After his procedure, we went to Sears parking lot for tacos and a burrito. Lunch for two for $4.50.  That simply can not be beat.

Our activity for family night, as suggested by Annie Joy, was karaoke songs courtesy of YouTube.  I think we did rather well on "How to Save a Life" by The Fray.

Calvin and MineCraft.  I'm not a fan of video games, but apparently this one has no violence.

Owen and Simon dipping around together.
