Calvin saying goodbye to some friends, Marianna and Alexandra. They went to the bowling alley, and then ended up ice skating. Quite the day.
After a wonderful dinner at the Nielson's we took off for our last Big Final Family Scottish Hooray to go see the military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle. Our seats were fab and even better... no rain!
Walking up the Royal Mile. I will miss that walk very much.
The Scottish dancers were almost as good as Helen Hunter. I only wish she could have been there!
How official does this picture look?!
Owen almost made it to the fireworks... almost.
Ryan, Simon and Annie all bundled up. The castle sits at the top of a hill, and when the wind blows, even during "summer", it can take your breath away. 10 points to our downstairs neighbor Anne, who gave us the warning to bundle up. It made all the difference.
Bagpipes, Castle, fireworks... a real proper Smith sendoff.
One of my favorite parts of the show was that they used the castle as a canvas for some fun and crazy backdrops. One of our favorites was the British flag.
