Final Pageant Day

Ryan Posting.

It was the final pageant day.  A bitter sweet experience today as we said goodbye to friends we have only known for a week and a bit, but with whom we feel indescribably close.  It has been very intense, physically and spiritually these 10 days.  We are exhausted.  Our thoughts and hearts this closing night are not only with those we have served with day and evening over this past week, but also with all the attendees that have come from near and far to share in the wonderful spirit of this great pageant work.  President of the pageant, President Kerr stated that we performed to over 10,000 this past week.  It has been a joy.  Lindsey and I have felt the closest to our ancestors who came from the British Isles across the Atlantic Ocean, and joined the Mormon trek west to the Salt Lake Valley.  They suffered greatly for the cause of the restored church and we will ever be grateful.  We could not help but feel as though we were proxy for one of our ancestors who made the sacrifice and in essence saved our fledgling church in the 1840's which has blossomed throughout the world.  The pageant will go on for one more week with another family cast, the same directing, managing and core cast, as well as crew.  We hope and pray that the pageant will be performed for many years to come in Britain and Ireland.

An unforgettable experience that I hope leaves all involved, especially our family more humble, thankful, kinder, softer, wiser, and diligent in the things that matter most - family and faith.

Truth Will Prevail!

A closing meeting before the final performance where witnesses of God's love were shared.  Our family in the fore.

Family pic in front of the Preston England Temple that sits on the grounds where the pageant is held.  This is the ultimate in worship for the LDS faith and where sacred covenants with God are made related to marriage and family.

Lindsey goofing with the kids in the "green room" in preparation to begin the last performance of the week.

The George Watt District at the first British Pageant closing night of week 1.  Owen is asleep about this time every night.  It was a bear to keep him awake for the finale of each performance that started at 10:00 pm or so.

Impromptu party in the temple accommodation family room proper with American root beer floats and candies following the performance.  Even the staff at the temple have been working overtime to ensure the full dormitory is kempt.  Thank you to all for a fantastic week!
