Ward Christmas Party

Our ward's Christmas party was tonight and it was wonderful!  Pulled pork and potatoes, salad, corn rolls, and even donuts.  The Smith family was invited to be on the program.  Instead of singing or playing instruments (which we can't), we decided to use wrapping paper rolls, cut to various lengths to perform two carols: We wish you a Merry Christmas and Jingle Bells.  All you need to make such high quality instruments is a couple of hours, some wrapping paper rolls, scissors.  Hit your head with a roll.  FInd the pitch.  Then cut it shorter to make a higher pitch, or leave it longer for a lower pitch.  I had a headache when I was finished (partly because I spent a few hours whacking my head, and partly because the activity was so ridiculous and there were loads of other tasks I could have/should have been working on.)When the rolls are gently wacked against your head, they resemble different pitches.  It was so much fun!

Rehearsal in our basement.  We used a chart so the kids would know when it was their turn.

Each person is armed with their instrument.

Too much partying makes an Owen very tired.
