Thee Tulip Festival

Our last day in Holland was spent at Keukenhoff, the world's largest, oldest, best tulip garden ever.  According to the info movie, over 7 million bulbs get planted in the fall.  I'm guessing that in about 2 weeks all of those 7 million will be in full bloom.  The silver lining is that even though the grounds weren't loaded with tulips, the park has several large indoor atriums that are full to bursting with fragrant blooms.  What a wonderful world God made for us!

My favorite of Ryan's pictures.

Breakfast at Burger King. Don't judge us. The trash can had this knob that you pushed so your hand wouldn't need to touch the dirty lid. Pretty Cool. Ryan was very amused by it.

There is the knob, without Ryan's hand covering it.

Inside one of the atriums.

RYan next to his favorite tulips, with his favorite 4 year old and 7 year old.

Owen found these little flowers on the ground and was so proud of himself.

It is waht it looks like. This wavy bridge for kids to cross that canal.  My kids loved it and luckily no one fell in.

Preston took Owen for an afternoon bike ride in the park behind the hotel.  What a good guy.

Us at the entrance to the tulip festival.  I bought the map and tourist book for 4 euros, only to discover that it's in Dutch.  At least the pictures are pretty.

My favorite of Preston's pictures.

Some random display in a greenhouse. Preston Preston Road.

What most of the grounds looked like. Annie's expression says it all.
Annie:  Where are the tulips?
Mom: Right behind us... They haven't bloomed yet, but that means we get to imagine
them any color we want them to be.  How lucky for us!
