Joseph Smith Concert Night

This evening we were lucky enough to attend a special concert held at our church about the life of Joseph Smith, the prophet who helped bring the restoration of God's church back on the earth.  It was a night filled with music, some video clips, stories and heartfelt testimonies about the humble, sincere beginnings of a church that now has over 10 million members.  The meeting house was packed, but well worth the claustrophobia.  What a lucky duck I am, that I could attend this concert tonight, that my children all willingly came and behaved, and that all are safely tucked in.  Ryan is in DC, working for a few days.  I miss him very much. But even whilst we are apart, I take comfort in knowing that we are united in our testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ, our belief in the Book of Mormon, and the knowledge that we can live together forever with God if we keep the commandments, remain faithful, and endure. ( A bit preachy, I know, but it is the Sabbath!)

Simon and the Bishop of our ward (congregation) waiting for the Joseph Smith concert to begin.  It's a small world.  Our Bishop was a missionary companion a few years ago with one of Ryan's brothers, Collin Smith.  How lucky that two Smith families got to cross the path of Bishop Anderson!
