Remodeling

In preparation for the cooking classes I will be teaching (go to thechipperchef.com to sign up!) we are doing some remodeling.  Round one of the remodel entails new flooring in several areas.  Today we took our living room by storm and put our furniture in various other locations, ripped out the old, yucky carpet and pads, and pulled all of the leftover staples and nails out of the floor with pliers (which is easily the most tedious task of this project.)  I am sooo excited for what the end results will look like.  OUr finished floors will be made of OSB (which is usually the layer under real hardwood floors, but we love it and it fits our mid-century modern, funky home just perfectly.) True to our budget and do-it-ourselves confidence, we are doing the work ourselves... I'm hoping that DIY really does mean "do it yourself" and not DIYATTCAT "do it yourself at twice the cost and time."

Almost every morning Annie gives Athena a bath. Both girls love it.

OUr conversation pit benches will have storage space under the seats.  We let Annie choose the color of the interior, and she went with a pumpkin orange.  I love it.

Sooo excited that my oldest is now tall enough and strong enough to help Ryan move furniture.

Preston ripping up the carpet.

Our turtle used to hang out in the living room, but since we are remodeling she needed a new room.  Annie graciously invited her to stay with her.  Athena's warming lamp doubles as the perfect night light.
