Traditions

We don't have as many family traditions as I wish we did. Some people hit a particular vacation spot every year, and take a family hoot there every year. Other family's have a particular holiday meal that they always et, or a game they play on the first day of fall, etc. The family traditions list can go on and on. It's not that I don't like traditions, it's just that I don't have the organizational skill or creativity or energy to keep to a rigid tradition schedule.  However, on general conference weekend (a semiannual event that last two days where all the members get to listen to 10 hours of talks) we try to follow the Saturday routine of lunch at the taco stand in the Sears parking lot (our favorite Mexican food in SLC, especially for the price, and donuts at Banbury Cross.  Ryan loves donuts with a passion.  we finished the lunch hour with a run up to the Huntsman Cancer Center.   Several months ago our family did a service project and we made cards for people battling cancer. With Ryan's own battle, baby on the way, and life in general, we never found the time to drop them off.  It was super fitting to drop them off today, however. Especially since we leave for a big vacation celebrating the fact that Ryan is cancer free.  Hopefully, those patients who get these cards might be cheered up by them, and also might enjoy the same blessed results to their treatments.

Simon's 12th birthday is this week.  His Grandma bought him this handsome three piece suit and he couldn't wait to try it on.

My three boys heading off to the Men's session of Conference.  Owen was sad that he's too young to attend, but Ryan still came and got him for the boys dinner after.  Preston was working all at the old folks home.
