Attack of the Killer Jelly Fish

Okay, so they weren't actually killer Jelly Fish, but mercy, their sting hurt.  We headed out early again for a sunrise swim, and about half an hour into it, the terrible happened. Simon announced that he got stung by a jelly fish. Impossible, I thought. Within a few minutes, 75% of the Smith clan had been stung, leaving only Owen and Norman to wonder what a jellyfish sting feels like.  What does it feel like? A bit like a bee sting, but a sting that has happened over several inches.  The best way to fix it is to pee on it so now not only can Annie and Simon say they've been stung, but they can also say that their brothers have peed on them. Making Memories!  Keeping it Real!

This thing is only about two inches long. Once we were all stung, we noticed loads of them that had washed up on the beach. They can still sting if they're out of the water.

Presotn got the great idea to bury Norman this morning, but with Norman standing straight up.  He absolutely loved it, and ate loads of sand, which he didn't seem to mind at all.

How cute!

We hiked to Waymaya Falls after the incident of the jellyfish.

It's a crazy beautiful place, with amazing vegetation.
We're standing front of on of the traditional huts that islanders used to live in.

When we finally finished hiking to the falls, we realized how lame our failure to grab the swimsuits that were in the car was... so Calvin and I ran back to the car and took the tram back up again to meet everyone.

Once I returned, I was soo hot that the cold water of falls felt fabulous, instead of cold.

A day to be remembered forever!

Love the place we're renting.  They're playing catch in the yard.

  1. Doe peeing really help? Like how long till you felt relief?

  2. It only works if you haven't had a lot of water. Acidity is key!
