Modern Art Gingerbread House Winner!

Rarely do couples get to do what they are both passionate about doing, together.  But in what I would call the most epic date of the decade, Ryan and I combined our love with our loves: architecture and baking.  In just 6-ish short hours, we crafted a scale model of our home, frosted to match the paint exterior.  Our house is modern art, and is therefore cantilevered the entire length of the South wall and much of the East wall. Basically, this was not a box.  It was the hottest date I have had in years.  I knew that the results had the potential to be on the pinterest fail chart, but we were both so glad that it turned out super well.  The gingerbread house competition was stiff at our ward party, but we walked away with the grand prize of a large container of several varieties of cake sprinkles. Victory. Eternal Love!

Here are three of my dear children, standing proudly in front of our gingerbread house, an edible replica of our home...Ryan got a call at noon yesterday, telling him of our epic Friday night plans...build our home with gingerbread!

How was the scale determined? By the size of the hot wheels cars.

View from the North of our house.

An action shot.

Norman was partying with Santa.

With some of the extra gingerbread dough, Ryan made gingerbread men for an office party.
A dear pal loaned us her ninja bread men cutouts. They were sprinkled with powdered sugar. Here is the silhouette. Cool looking.

Crazy wonderful ward party.
This pair were the brains behind the event.
Delicious fun.
