Walking

Some weekends are full of activities, but this particular Friday night, we had nothing in the works.  I could just feel the evening slipping between my fingers, quickly headed to the destination of a lame Saturday night.  Having no real energy to come up with a brilliant family diversion, I thew out the idea of taking a walk to a family favorite custard place.  To my delight, everyone else was also bored and wanted to do something random so the six of us ear on out. (The smith clan is now 8 members strong, but Calvin was at Scout camp, and Ryan is still trying to recover from the grueling surgery he had not yet two weeks ago, so they didn't join us.) We took the walk slow, 1.7 miles, and chatted the whole time, and just enjoyed each other's company.  Lucky to have a family, and some pretty great people to play with on a Friday night.

Got there just before it went completely dark outside.

Ryan met us there, and then drove us all home when we were done eating our custard, french fries and onion rings,
