The Girl's Trip

Annie Joy was promised that when she finished reading The Book Of Mormon Reader that we would go on a girl's trip.  I like the idea of people doing good things just because they should/can.  I also like the idea of working toward a goal.  This plan allowed A.J. to do something good whilst working for a prize.  At the time the promise was made (6-8 months ago), she was struggling to finish 1/8 of a page.  Gradually her reading has improved, and about a month ago she realized that she can read well, and that this girl's trip was totally in reach. 10 points to Annie for preparing for baptism by reading about the beliefs of our church. 10 points to Ryan for funding the adventure. 10 points to me for spending his hard earned money.

Destination:  Downtown Edinburgh, the Travelodge.
Theme: Song by Miley Cyrus, You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home.
Schedule: change our hair, change our clothes, change our minds, that's just the way it goes.

On our way out.  We took the bus into New Town Edinburgh,

A picture of us in front of the Scott Monument on Princes Street.

Changing her hair.  Simple cut and style. Utterly fantastic.

Annie Joy, what a pretty girl!

Soft layers.

Annie and a Minion.

Annie wanted Chinese for dinner, so we caught the buffet at Jimmy Chungs.  It was delicious, and Annie was especially pleased with the green jello (very Chinese indeed.)

AJ on the front door steps of the hotel.

Breakfast at Costa. Their hot chocolate was really rich and creamy.  Annie opted for marshmallows, but I prefer the heavy cream.

My daughter, channel surfing.  May this trip mark the first of many mother/daughter vacations.  Annie Joy, I love you so and am glad that I'm your mum.
