Summer is here - how is 77 degrees?

Today was clearly a summer day.  The temps hovered around 25 degrees Centigrade (77 degree F), the warmest it has been this year by far.  We enjoyed short sleeve shirts, some of us in shorts (those who own them), and drinking loads of water.  We all got a bit burnt, but loved the feeling of the sun our our skins.  Soak up the Vitamin D!

Highlights:  hike on Arthur's Seat (Pratt's Hill), getting to watch Kaitlyn Moon (aka little fudge), dinner at our favorite St. Lucas, and a flag ceremony to pass off Simon's Cub Scout requirements so he is not as behind as we know he will be when we return.  Oh, and that Preston returned from temple week tired, spiritually fed, full of friends and saying it was the best experience of his life thus far.  I hope he leaves room for the British Pageant and EFY before we leave back to the states.

Cal conquered Arthur's Seat and is celebrating!

The kids (minus Preston at temple week) on top of Arthur's Seat. We will probably do this again a couple of times - our favorite hike by far!

Who knew that the best ice cream in Edinburgh was at the ice truck at the bottom of the hill, near Holyrood Palace?  Lindsey likes.

Chippy the fish died today.  it was a sad affair.  Simon has cried multiple times and Annie keeps pretending the cry - she is hard core.  Down the toilet he went, this taken before his sewage rest.

We did not have a flag for the pledge of allegiance.  Simon decided to make one.  Not enough stripes, but all the stars are there.  Hand on heart for 4th weekend!

The family sitting around talking about their favorite Cub Scout cheer:  Owen - growling bear cheer, Calvin - cockroach cheer, Annie - watermelon cheer, Simon - mosquito cheer, Preston - too tired to cheer, and Dad - the silent clap cheer.  Mom was at the store doing grocery shopping for the week.
