Day Two in Venice included more walking than day one, but a also a gondola ride, St. Mark's Basilica visit, the Pallazo Duclae (Doges Palace) look, and some museums. Grand time. We were so tired, we took the water bus back to our side of the city. Tonight's dinner was the best tasting yet! Architecture + Food; Ryan + Lindsey makes this a winner location for number 15!
We started talking about our children today. We miss them so and hope they are being well behaved! It is raining at midnight as I write this, so the windows are all open and getting a cross breeze. The thunder and lighting across the Mediterranean is quite a scene.
Lindsey going in for a kiss on the gondola, making Ryan laugh.
Lindsey on the gondola with Venician palace in the background. Look at that hat!
Ryan deep in listening mode at St. Mark's Basilica.
In front of Dodge's Palace. Facade is typical Venician, with ornate brick and stone work and supported by pointed arches and pile type columns. Speaking of hats, look at my lady killer nylon jungle hat (JC Holman coined term) - keeps the sun off.
Lindsey posing in the council room in Dodge's Palace. We have seen more murals than we have ever considered before. The ceilings in the palace were incredibly ornate and adorned in gold leaf.
Now we are talking! Lindsey selecting some sweets before another gelato plunge. I think this is #5 this trip!
End of the day tired sit on a wonderfully cool marble bench in the Academia Museum where original works of religious themed oil paintings from basilica's around Italy are displayed.
Beautiful Lindsey at dinner. She had ravioli with spinach filling, I had gnocchi, and we shared a chocolate mousse.
Oh the murals, I would love to see them and take hours doing it. Truly so happy for you two!
