Inverness

Ryan: Text to my boss this morning back in Edinburgh: "Best day of the year to be at Ness - not a cloud".  There literally was not a cloud in the sky today.  That is not true, but when you see blue in the sky at all in Scotland, it is called, "not a cloud'.  Not one cloud in the beautiful, blue, Highland sky.

We decided to take the family to see the monster up north at Loch Ness, and its adjacent city, Inverness.  However, today was a paradox.  Yes, there was the big blue sky, the small towns and shops on the drive up, the meander on the canal, and wonderful dinner at a pizza joint, we returned from out day out to our parked car cornered by an illegally parked delivery van, rendering us stuck like a duck in the muck, out of luck....for 90 minutes.  I called the company to whom the van fleet belongs, I called the police, I called the property management team, I called a tow company.  All were of no help.  So what do you do when you are stuck in Europe unable to get your car out of a parking bind, you just sit.

Fortunately, we were able to return to our accommodations this evening not too late before the sun set - a trailer camper in a "Holiday Park".  We had heard about these in the UK and finally are trying it out.  12' wide, 3 bedroom wonder on blocks in the middle of some of the most beautiful country on this earth - the Scotland Highlands.  Tomorrow will be a visit to the Loch, some castles and a fort.  Back in Edinburgh tomorrow evening.  Ryan out.

Yellow wildflowers, and fields of them near Perthshire.

Lunch break in a field near the road.

Our castle for the night.

Not a bad view from our castle for the night.
