The Racket

Leisure activities in the winter can sometimes be a challenge.  It is crazy cold here right now, as in under 20 degrees F. I'm not really a big fan of being outside when it's super cold, so often it feels like I only have a few options: watch a movie. Stay home and... watch  movie (or read, or craft, etc... but since I'm home I'm going to be fixated on all the housework that needs doing, which obviously isn't very leisure-ish) or go bowling, or swimming. We've been bowling and swimming quite a bit lately.  Well, thanks to our fabulous city recreation center, our family entertainment included racquetball. It was mayhem, with frequent rule breaking, and several almost racket to head collisions, but it was good wholesome family fun. I'm so sad to see this winter break coming to a close, but I have so very much enjoyed this lovely time with my family.

We did several combinations of 1 on 1: Annie and Owen, Owen and Simon, Mom and Annie, Dad and Simon. In the end, everyone just got onto the court for a racquetball brawl.

Norman is still feeling exceptionally lousy due to his ear infections.
He's getting load of tlc, and he's handling this like a trooper, but we are officially ready for our little man cub to be back to his happy, healthy, cheerful self.
Ear infections + cough + cold + fever + teething = sick unhappy baby Norman. What a love bug.
