Progress

Today was a day that we got a few things done, namely, phones!  We are now the proud owners of Samsungs!  This was a major event for us for a few reasons.  First, it is virtually impossible to house hunt without one. Second, it is not an Iphone, which meant we literally saved over $1500 by opting for the cheaper phone. Third, it is unlocked which means that we haven't placed ourselves into cell-phone slavery. Fourth, it really won't mean much to any of my American friends, as Skype is still the best way to call me.  I guess it's just for all of my Scottish friends... when I get some friends I will be totally easy to get a hold of.  And fifth, the cellphone salesman was actually Mormon (serendipity!) and  is the young mens president of the ward we are trying to attend.  His name is Bono, just like U2, but they don't resemble each other as he is mid 20's, stems from Africa, and is black.  It was a lovely moment, and an obvious tender mercy.  Church starts at 10:30am, and tomorrow is indeed "Fast Sunday" (a day we Mormons go without food or drink and donate money to the poor and needy.)

As for other events of the day: we visited a local farm, complete with sheep, a pig, chickens, a horse guinea pigs, rats, and gold fish of course.

We went to check out a flat, and discovered once we were there that it isn't even available until January, a lame disappointment.

And lastly, we behaved poorly at a lovely dinner hosted by Ryan's new boss and his wife, a child free family.  After the craziness of tonight's delicious Mexican dinner, they might remain that way for quite some time.

Below is a silly sign I saw at one of the shops we were in. They were selling some cheap watches. It made me smile.  Clearly I'm not in Kansas anymore.
