A Funeral

A few nights ago I found a dead bird on our deck. It happened to be our Monday night family night, is I suggested that maybe we could bury the bird and then watch Poltergeist for evening's activity. We both had a good laugh, and came up with a plan "b" for the night... but it's Wednesday now and our little guest was still on the deck, so we decided to hold a funeral for and bury her in the backyard.  Lovely thoughts were shared about our bird, and birds in general, and I am confidant that she is now resting in peace.

First Calvin and Owen dug a grave.

Owen bravely put the bird into the box, Annie mad a headstone, and Simon was a pall bearer.

Annie guessed the bird was probably 15 years old. That's seems pretty old to me, for a bird.

This lovely lady went to the Temple for the first time today.
I was lucky enough to be her escort.

What a wonderful day!

Annie thought Norman would love the swing set. She was right!
