Much of the discussion in church revolved around the topics of sacrifice and pride. It seems that these two are often best friends: pride telling us not to sacrifice for others (not to show charity: the pure love of Christ.) My favorite quote of the day was about the opposite of pride: humility: "humility os to thinking less of ourselves, it's thinking less about ourselves." Love it.
Whenever I hear the word pride, I always think of a lion pride, or a gourd of lions.
I have actually held a baby lion. It was on our honeymoon in what I'm sure is/was an illegal petting zoo. I was too young and inexperienced to know that the whole thing was not safe: for the animals or us. Memories!
