Ryan and I went to Acapulco on our honeymoon. It was extremely warm outside and on one of the tours we were promised a nice cool glass of lemonade after being outside for several hours. At the time I was both homesick for family and American food, so I was very much looking forward to a glass of lemonade. When they gave it to us, everything looked all right, but as I took a sip, an unfriendly, unfamiliar taste met my lips. I was drinking barely sweetened limeade. What a disappointment. Apparently, in several parts of the world (at least in Acapulco and England) any clear-ish beverage can pass for lemonade. I am proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free to distinguish between water, ginger-ale, Sprite, limeade and authentic, un-powdered lemonade.
Lemonade is easy to make, it only requires three ingredients: Water, Sugar and Lemons. I knew that if I started a personal blog, I would be forced to write about food, as it's my passion. I would also write about everyday things (water), events that were totally awesome (sugar), and occasionally I would vent and rant about frustrations, irritations and things that could only be described as terrible, horrible, no-good very bad and sour (lemons.) Thus Lindsey's Lemonade was born. Drink it up.
Poor lemon water it must be frustrating to know its potential is not being reached...I can't wait to see what this lemonade stand will provide :)
