Colon Cancer Update

Ryan had his first follow-up colonoscopy today since he finished his treatments/surgery about 6 months ago.  He's been exercising loads and taking very good care of himself, but I would be a liar liar pants on fire if I didn't own up to having just a twinge of trepidation as I killed time in the waiting room during his procedure. Unlike his first colonoscopy, which took much longer than anticipated, and had a 10 minute q and A with the doctor about cancer... today's appointment was brief, the doctor took thirty seconds (if that) to inform us that everything looked totally great, no cancer or even polyps.  Ryan won't need to get another colonoscopy for three years (yeah!)  All in all, today was a wonderful blessing. A red letter day. A day to be remembered. A time to celebrate. An answer to prayers. A moment of reflection on all that is good and right and lovely and kind in the world.  A cancer free day.

Checking in. Nice of U of U hospital to get fancy for Saint Patrick's Day.

Heading into the procedure room.

Coming out. Thumbs up.  Handsome man.
Who knew that he would be healthier and in better shape at 40 than he was at 38?
God knew.
