Better Than I Deserve

One of my favorite talk show hosts always gives this reply when a caller asks: "How are you doing?"  He says: "Better than I deserve." I love that response... Today was pretty stinky, but all in all, the day has ended up better than I deserve.  I got a flat on the freeway, but the tire didn't explode and I was able to make it to the tire place by driving really slowly, and praying for safety.  Not related, I took my glasses in to be repaired, to have the anti-reflective coating completely removed bc it was starting to come off anyways.  Somehow the lenses themselves got scratched during the process, meaning  they are basically useless now. Like looking through you're glasses after cooking bacon and you try to wipe them off but it just looks like greases has been rubbed al of over instead of being able to wipe the grease off..(I was warned that there was a slim chance this might happen, but wasn't banking on the unlikely worst case scenario.) Luckily I have a back-up pair that aren't as crummy as I remember them to be, so I will be able to use them on vacation without much trouble.  Both of these life events could have been disastrous: Death on the Freeway, No glasses as a backup (and my vision is lousy enough that "glasses in about an hour" aren't a thing with my prescription, and my new contacts aren't meant to be a full time ordeal: my eyes can handle them comfortable for about 6 hours: like 1/3 of the time I'm awake:~) But I have a car with tires that are ready to go for our trip, and glasses that look decent on my face. In conclusion, even lousy days contain blessings.

Picture Day at the school. Owen's looking pretty spiffy.

Norman hanging out on the floor of the tire place. Please don't tell me how dirty the floor must have been. It was dirty. Norman loved it.

I'm trying to decide if I like the glasses that I'm stuck with for the next two weeks. Norman look undecided.

Campfire with some neighborhood pals. I love where I live.

It looked like rain, but I'm glad it all worked out.

Norman loves this lovely lady.
We have known her for years, and she is very good with babies.
