Tomorrow starts the day of Ryan's liquid fast in prep for his colonoscopy on Monday. After 6 weeks of chemo and radiation, and the mandatory rest that follows, we are counting down the days to Ryan's surgery. Only 10 more days to go. We weren't planning on a pre-surgery colonoscopy, but this will tell us how much the tumor has shrunk, and if it there might be more cancer in his colon (the big tumor made it really hard to test other biopsies, as they had to be drug through the big tumor, thus compromising the cancer.) Certainly, other things are going on at the Smith house, but the health of Ryan Edward Smith, aka my soul mate, is certainly taking center stage. Ryan is in the best spirits possible, considering this will be his third colonoscopy in the space of 4 months. The rest of our crew are plugging along, hanging in there, and are otherwise doing just fine. *
Gatorade and Miralax. We know the drill.
One of the Missionaries in our congregation is being transferred to another area, and I will miss her greatly. So long, Sister Claren! Luckily, she finishes her mission in just 2 months, and is planning on returning with her parents to Utah for General Conference in April. Missionaries are rad.
We hit the rec center to workout and swim. Annie is a cheetah!
Ryan was more like the tortoise, not the hare, but 10 points for any effort extended to exercise.
And in all honesty, Ryan is at least still jogging. I have been reduced to speed walking (at 31 weeks pregnant.) Now that is depressing.
Our hot date tonight consisted of attending the Bountiful Temple, shopping, and an easy meal of a shared Roast Beast sandwich and tomato soup.
